PETALING JAYA: The embargoed report on the Election Commission's (EC) redelineation exercise appears to have been leaked online, just hours after it was given to lawmakers on Thursday.
A web portal claimed on Thursday night that soft copies of all three volumes of the report had been leaked online, posting the link to the file-sharing website where the report was uploaded.
The file-sharing website says it stores files online for two months.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia had allowed lawmakers to take the report, which is embargoed until next Wednesday (March 28), outside Parliament.
They, however, were told to respect the embargo on the much-anticipated report and are not allowed to share the information with anyone.
"I know I said you cannot take it out just now. But now you can. Don't publish it anywhere. If anyone publishes it, it will be a violation of the Standing Order and be in contempt of Parliament," Pandikar Amin told lawmakers after earlier saying that the report was not allowed to be brought out.
The motion on the EC's redelineation exercise will only be tabled for its first reading next Wednesday.
