PKR election is a matter of party, not related to cabinet reshuffle – PM
PUTRAJAYA: No Cabinet reshuffle will be carried out after the PKR elections are held even though several 'big' names in the party failed to contest positions at the branch level.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the matter did not affect their position in the State Government or at the federal level.
"No. (Cabinet reshuffle) This is a party election that was conducted well, there are some difficult issues that can be raised in the special meeting on Wednesday."
"But this is a party matter, there is no question of the State or Federal Government. It's business as usual," he said.
He was met by the media at the Ministry of Higher Education's (KPT) Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration Ceremony today.
Commenting further, Anwar said that the evaluation of his Cabinet Ministers was made based on performance and not according to political measures.
"I look at it in terms of their respective performance and not in terms of political maneuvering," he added.
Earlier, the Prime Minister arrived at the Ministry of Interior at about 1.15 pm and was greeted by his Minister, Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir.
He took the time to take photos and socialize with the visitors present.
Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Director-General of the Civil Service Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz.
