POPULAR ’90s singer Alina Hassan has revealed her rocky life journey to Sinar Harian after taking a break from the entertainment industry several years ago.
The former winner of Sinaran Pasport Kegemilangan 1996 and Kilauan Emas 2013 said she had been working as a security guard and a janitor in Suria KLCC to support herself and her family.
Although she tried to get back to singing, the 51-year-old said it was not easy to get an offer as she left the industry years ago.
“Even if there is an offer, the pay is very low.
“So I decided to take jobs with a stable income,” she said.
Even through her hardships, Alina said she never lost hope of getting back to singing and was grateful to be chosen as singer Siti Sarah’s protege on the reality show Mentor Otai.
“If I win (Mentor Otai), I will use the money to start a cleaning services company,” said Alina during the interview.
Alina is well-known for the song Dingin, and had released two albums during her singing career.
The albums were released in 1996 and 1997
