Shah Alam: The Selangor Police is offering a 50 percent discount on traffic fines in conjunction with the Selangor PDRM Merdeka Ride and Carnival 2023, at the Shah Alam Stadium carnival site, here this Saturday.
The Selangor Police in a post on Facebook said that the discount was given for all types of suits except offenses involving accidents, non-compoundable (NC), Op Selamat suits, and court hearings.
"However, discounts are not given to suits related to lorries or heavy vehicles, dangerous overtaking, Q (line) cutting, emergency lane use, double line cutting and exhaust modification.
"The PDRM Selangor Merdeka Ride & Carnival 2023 will be held on August 26 from 7am to 7pm.
"The people of Selangor in particular and Malaysians as a whole are invited to attend this historic and festive event," he said in a message yesterday.
According to him, among the events that will be held include Kayuhan Merdeka with the national professional cyclist, Anuar Manan and various interesting activities including the chance to win a lucky draw that offers attractive prizes.

He said, among the prizes offered included a motorcycle, smart television, scooter and various mystery prizes to be won by lucky visitors.
"There will also be activities such as petting zoo, fun fair, classic car and motorcycle exhibition and magic tricks.
"Several guest artists including Datuk Awie, Hazama, Saiful Apek, Yassin Senario, Baggio Damasutra, Pablo Amirul, the Arteh group will also enliven the program," he said.
