Ipoh District Police Chief, ACP Yahaya Hassan said, the suspect, a 38-year-old local, was arrested at a house in Tasek here, at about 9.30pm, five hours after his party received a report.

According to him, the suspect is believed to be responsible for the bomb threat call to the mall management.

"It is based on the confession and information gathered, including the communication device used by the suspect to make the fake call," he said here, today.

According to him, the suspect will be remanded today for further investigation and the case will be investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code.

Earlier, Yahaya said, at about 4.50pm yesterday, his party received a call from the shopping center worker about a bomb threat inside the premises.
