A 5-year-old boy died after being abused by his mother and boyfriend
SERDANG - A five-year-old boy died believed to be abused by his biological mother at their residence in Taman Puncak Jalil, Seri Kembangan here.
Serdang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner AA Anbalagan said, the victim was rushed to the Emergency Department of Sultan Idris Shah Hospital (Serdang Hospital) at about 12.50 midnight last Tuesday in an unconscious state.
According to him, breathing aid was given to medical officers but there was no positive response before the victim was declared dead.
"Further examination found that there were bruises and old wounds suspected of being abused on the victim's body.
"The interrogation of the victim's 44-year-old mother found that a false police report had been made by her mother's 29-year-old boyfriend who claimed to have hit the victim with a lorry," he said in a statement on Saturday.
He said, the investigation found that the incident did not happen, rather the lorry involved was a stolen vehicle in Kajang.
He said, both suspects (mother and boyfriend) later confessed to abusing the victim before the arrest was made on the day of the incident.

"The two suspects who tested positive for drugs are now remanded for seven days until August 29 for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code," he said.
