Batu Pahat: Three men who are also friends were arrested on suspicion of raping a 12-year-old known to them by taking turns in an incident at a house in Sri Gading, here yesterday.
It is understood that the three suspects, aged between 18 and 20 years, are accused of committing the act after they got to know the victim through social media.
In fact, one of the suspects is alleged to have committed the act against the victim since last month.
The last incident happened last Tuesday night before the victim's mother found out and made a police report.
Meanwhile, Batu Pahat District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ismail Dollah, said the three suspects were arrested around the district, following a police report made at 3.35am yesterday.
"The police opened investigation papers according to Section 375B of the Penal Code which provides for a prison sentence of up to 30 years, if convicted.
"The Batu Pahat Magistrate's Court allowed the three suspects to be remanded until this Monday," he said in a statement.
