2 dead in light plane crash in Australia

Police in the state of New South Wales (NSW) said in a statement on Saturday night that emergency services received a call about a light plane crashing into the sea near the town of Nambucca Heads, about 400 kilometres north of Sydney, at 4pm local time.
"The pilot and passenger of the aircraft died at the scene and have not yet been officially identified," NSW Police said.
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported that the wreckage of the plane was found about 1.5 kilometers from the coast.
Marine police, ambulance teams and a rescue helicopter were deployed to the scene.
NSW Police said an investigation into the incident had been initiated with the help of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
