The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received a visit from Top Indian film star and legend Rajinikanth at his office today.
Anwar said that the visit was a tribute to him for his struggle related to the issue of misery and suffering of the people.
"Today I received a visit from the Indian film star, Rajinikanth, who is a familiar name on the Asian and international art world stage.
"I appreciate the respect he gave to my struggle especially regarding the issue of misery and suffering of the people," he wrote on his Facebook page.
Commenting further, the Prime Minister said, the meeting also discussed the social elements that are being fought for to be included in Rajinikanth's films in the future.
"Let's pray that Rajinikanth continues to excel in the field and the world of film," he said.
Previously, Rajinikanth had been to Malaysia several times including promoting the movie Kabali which was also filmed in Malaysia.
Kabali is the Tamil film legend's 159th film, and the actor portrays a mafia boss, taking inspiration from the true story that was once brought to the silver screen called Jack Nickholson's Departed.
The film was shown on 14 April 2016 and also lined up three local actors namely Datuk Rosyam Nor, Norman Hakim and Zack Taipan who were also invited to star in the gangster film
