Jamaludin's widow, children and mother-in-law failed to agree on assets of more than RM2 billion

KUALA LUMPUR: The widow of the late Tan Sri Jamaludin Jarjis, Puan Sri Kalsom Ismail and her four children and mother-in-law, failed to reach an agreement in the marital property claim amounting to more than RM2 billion.

The matrimonial property claim was filed by Kalsom as the plaintiff against his four children, Ikwan Hafiz, Nur Anis, Nurul Alyaa and Noor Adilla and his mother-in-law, Aminah Abdullah who was named as the first to fifth defendant.

Lawyer, Nur Hidayah A Bakar, who represented Aminah, when met after today's proceedings said that Judge Syarie Abdul Shukor Abd Hamid decided that the case should continue with a trial following the failure of both sides to reach an agreement.

Hidayah said that the decision was read by the Registrar of the High Court who then fixed the mention of the case on October 9.

Kalsom, 67, filed a claim for marital property including 20 properties in Malaysia and Makkah as well as several companies in October 2018, naming his four children and mother-in-law as defendants.

On April 4, 2015, Jamaludin, who was also the former Malaysian Ambassador to the United States, was 64 years old at the time, along with five others died when the helicopter they were traveling in from Pekan, Pahang to Kuala Lumpur crashed in a rubber plantation area in Kampung Sungai Pening, Semenyih. at 4.55 pm.

Also killed were its pilot Captain Clifford William Fournier, Chief Private Secretary to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Datuk Seri Azlin Alias, businessman Datuk Tan Huat Seang, Jamaludin's personal officer, Razakan Seran and a woman known as Aidana Baizieva.
