KOTA TINGGI: One of the four men remanded to assist in the investigation of a fight incident during the Desaru International Bike Week (DIBW) 2023 event in Kota Tinggi, last Saturday, was found to be positive for the drug Methamphetamine.

Kota Tinggi District Police Chief Supt Hussin Zamora said the results were obtained after urine screening was conducted on all the men aged between 20 and 50.

"Following that, an investigation paper was opened according to Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said in a statement today.

Hussin also advised the public not to be upset by the incident as a transparent investigation will be carried out without compromise according to the law.

"The public is also advised not to create any speculation that could confuse the public," he said.

He asked people who have information about the incident to contact the Kota Tinggi District Police Headquarters Operations Room via 07-8831 222 or the case investigating officer ASP Ng Han Shoong via 016-5488 810 or any nearby police station.

Earlier, Kota Tinggi Sessions Court Judge Hayda Faridzal Abu Hassan granted a remand order against the four men for three days starting today.

The fight that took place last Saturday during the DIBW 2023 event in Desaru is believed to be the result of a misunderstanding between two groups of local and American motorcycle participants.
