The circumstances of the accident involved the collision of a lorry with several vehicles including a motorcycle of a traffic police officer at KM5.7 Jalan Persiaran Utara towards Puchong here today.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) have been instructed to investigate a fatal accident involving a lorry and several other vehicles in Putrajaya on Wednesday morning.

The Minister of Transport, Anthony Loke said, the investigation will focus on the lorry involved, including investigating the possibility that the vehicle was carrying a load that exceeded the limit.

He also assured that an investigation into the incident will be carried out as soon as possible.

“The convoy was not with any VIP, it was a rehearsal for Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL).

"That was training for LTDL. This was told to me by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh.

"It was definitely a very sad incident when a lorry crashed into a vehicle there.

"I have also asked JPJ and APAD to conduct an investigation, whether the lorry was overloaded or not.

"Looking at the picture of the incident location, the load of the lorry is quite full as well. So we will definitely investigate whether it is overloaded or not," he said.
