KUALA LUMPUR: A member of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) was injured when he was hit by a motorbike that crashed the road block at Kilometer 28 Lebuhraya Seremban Port Dickson (SPDH) in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, this morning.
The incident occurred at 11 am when a team of JPJ Negeri Sembilan members were carrying out a road block during the Highway Block Reinforcement Operation (SJR) at the location.
JPJ in fact, today said that the injured JPJ member who had injuries to the neck muscles, head and swelling of the hands and feet was allowed to go home after receiving treatment at Port Dickson Hospital.
"The results of the x-ray examination carried out, the hospital confirmed that the injury he suffered was not serious and he was allowed to go home as soon as he had finished undergoing treatment," he said.
He said, the results of investigations by the Negeri Sembilan JPJ Regulatory Division found that the motorbike rider involved had two active blacklists and action was taken in accordance with the 1987 Road Transport Act (APJ).
"The mistake made was that the motor vehicle license (LKM) expired on July 18 2012 and was subject to action according to Section 23 (1) APJ 1987 and there was no insurance protection (Section 90 (1) APJ 1987).
"Apart from that, this man was also blacklisted for the offense of not having a Competent Driving License (CDL) according to Section 6 (1) APJ 1987 as well as confiscation actions according to Section 64(1) APJ 1987," he said.
Following this incident, he said the 25 year old motorbike rider was handed over to the Traffic Investigation and Strengthening Department (JSPT) of the Port Dickson Regional Police Headquarters for further action.

At the same time, JPJ announced that it would launch a month-long 2023 Special Motocycle Operation from September 1 to 30 throughout the country.
"The operation aims to strengthen the culture of obeying the law and foster a sense of guilt when violating road safety regulations.
Previously, two video recordings were posted on social media regarding the incident, with one of the video recordings showing a motorbike rider who was seen not slowing down his motorbike when he was close to the road block area.
The motorbike hit a JPJ member who was on duty causing both of them to fall on the road.
