Malaysia's aspirations to qualify for the 2024 Asian Under-23 (U-23) Cup have been achieved after their disciplinary record helped them overtake Iran for the final group runners-up slot.

The national squad was lucky when the Uzbek team beat Iran 

Malaysia thus became one  of the top four best runners up in the group stage  of the U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, the others were  Kuwait, Tajikistan dan China.

Thailand advanced to the final round of the U-23 Asian Cup in Qatar next year with a 1-0 Win Over Malaysia


Meanwhile, Malaysia will have to depend on the results of the other groups to place themselves in the top four runners-up group to qualify.
