KUALA LUMPUR: The Aidilfitri Bazaar at Lorong Tuanku Abdul Rahman (TAR) will reopen on April 17, subject to compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the prevention of COVID-19 infection, said Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

"In order to fulfil the wishes of Aidilfitri bazaar traders, we have agreed not only to allow the bazaar to open but we will revive the bazaar at the original site at Lorong Tuanku Abdul Rahman, starting April 17," Annuar said via his official twitter today.

In 2019, the bazaar site was relocated to Jalan Raja to address issues such as cleanliness, governance and those who took advantage to make easy money.

On Tuesday, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that Ramadan and Aidilfitri bazaars will be allowed to operate nationwide this year in accordance with strict SOPs.

The TAR Bazaar which is also known as the Masjid India bazaar which was opened in 2003 with about 100 stalls, now has up to 300 lots.
