PETALING JAYA: A search has been conducted for a 13-year-old boy who went missing since Tuesday from his apartment in Seri Kembangan.
Over 60 people from the Selangor Community Policing Assocition are now looking for Soon Jia Liang at cyber cafes, fast food joints and places where he could have gone.
Jia Liang was nowhere to be found when his mother housewife Yip Kuan Yee, 38, returned home at 6.30am to their home in Putra Ria apartment.
Yip said she left Jia Liang and his elder brother at home at 6am to send her 11-year-old daughter to a nearby school. Her husband had also left the house for Johor Baru earlier.
Yip said when she returned she was surprised to find Jia Liang missing along with his clothes and handphone.
"I asked my 14-year-old son to look for him at a sundry shop nearby but he was nowhere to be found.
"An image of him walking by the store at around 6.04am was captured by a closed circuit television (CCTV) recording," she said.
Yip said she immediately alerted her husband, who had reached Seremban, prompting him to turn back.
"We have been desperately looking for Jia Liang since then," she said.
The family have lodged two police reports since Tuesday.
Yip said Jia Liang had complained of a headache when she woke him up to prepare for school on Monday and had told him to rest at home.
"He would always stay at home, even during the holidays.
"The whole family is worried about him. I hope he returns soon," she said.
Those with information of Jia Liang can contact Kuan Chee Heng (019-2316666) or the Serdang police at 03-8074 2222.
