KUALA LUMPUR: A handicapped satay seller was charged with raping a 14-year-old girl who is the daughter of his regular customer.
Shary A. Rahman, 50, who claims to be a bilal (muezzin), was accused of committing the offence in a car in front of a clinic in Setapak here last month.
He faces a second charge of committing sexual intercourse against the order of nature by putting his private part into the girl's mouth at the same time and place.
Shary later admitted inserting his private part into the victim's mouth but said the place of the incident was wrong.
This prompted the interpreter to read the charges a second time which Shary then claimed trial to all.
Earlier, deputy public prosecutor Nadia Malek Fauzie urged the court not to offer bail as Shary knew the victim.
The unrepresented Shary said he was a bilal and was wearing an artificial leg and was due for a heart surgery at the National Heart Institute on April 28.
