KUALA LUMPUR: Four men have been arrested for attempting to break into a house in Taman Sri Bahagia, Cheras and causing harm to the policemen who trailed after their getaway vehicle.
In the Monday incident, a police spokesman said that their patrolling unit spotted the suspicious looking group in the residential area around noon.
"The men made their escape as soon as they saw the policemen, which prompted our men to chase after their vehicle," he said.
The spokesman said the chase lasted all the way from Taman Sri Bahagia to Taman Bukit Anggerik, also in Cheras.
"The suspects were repeatedly ramming their car into our vehicle and were also putting the lives of pedestrians at risk.
"One of our men fired a shot in an attempt to fend them off. They eventually stopped the car," he added.
According to the spokesman, no one was injured during the altercation and a weapon was retrieved from the getaway car.
"We are investigating this case under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder," he said.
Kajang OCPD Ab Rashid Ab Wahab confirmed receiving a report on the incident.
