US AND MALAYSIAN COMPANIES SIGN DEALS WORTH US$2 BILLION!



Tiga memorandum persefahaman, MOU dimeterai hari ini antara syarikat Malaysia dan Amerika Syarikat membabitkan pelaburan bernilai 2 bilion dolar Amerika. Perjanjian disaksikan oleh Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Mohamad Najib Tun Razak dan Presiden Amerika Syarikat, Barack Obama. Perjanjian itu antara Sime Darby Ver-Dezin dalam bidang bioteknologi yang bakal mewujudkan 300 peluang pekerjaan. Antara GE dan Air Asia untuk penyelenggaraan 25 pesawat baru, A330 Air Asia X. Satu lagi MOU ialah antara MetLife dengan kumpulan Arab Malaysian untuk pembelian saham dalam AM Life dan AM Takaful.

1. First Was Agreement between Sime Darby and Ver Dezin in the field of biotechnology that will create more than 300 jobs.

2.Second Agreement was between GE and Air Asia for 25 new A330 for Air Asia X.

3. Third Agreement was between MetLife and Arab Malaysian Group for the purchase of shares in AM Life and AM Takaful

KUALA LUMPUR: US President Barack Obama witnessed the signing of several commercial deals between Malaysian and American companies worth US$2bil in the aviation, biotechnology and insurance sectors.
Also present at the event in a hotel here on Monday was Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
The two leaders held bilateral talks in Putrajaya on Sunday, which saw both nations agreeing to upgrade their relations to a ‘comprehensive partnership’. 
The US also pledged to continue assisting Malaysia in the mission to locate the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
Other highlights of Obama's visit was his townhall session with youth leaders from across South-East Asia and a visit to the National Mosque.
The president also attended a state banquet with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah at Istana Negara a few hours after his arrival on Saturday. 
Malaysia was the third leg of Obama's four-nation tour of Asia. Prior to Malaysia, the 44th American president had visited Japan and South Korea. He heads to the Philippines on Monday.

Obama's visit to Malaysia was the first by a sitting US President since President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966.
