KUALA LUMPUR: UMNO President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi revealed that he had met former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak in Kajang Prison recently.
Ahmad Zahid explained that in addition to visiting the former UMNO President, he also had the opportunity to eat the former Pekan Member of Parliament's favorite food for breakfast.
"I have met Datuk Seri Najib and visited him in prison. I had breakfast with him and I brought all his favorite food .
"Now he is continuing his PhD (doctor of philosophy) studies in prison. When I went to Kajang Prison, I brought the Deputy Home Minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah," he said
After breakfast, explained Ahmad Zahid, he was also given space to spend time chatting with Najib.
Strictly speaking, the Supreme Working Council (MKT) of UMNO is always committed to defend Najib's fate so that full justice is given.
"After half an hour, I (held) a four-point meeting with Datuk Seri Najib for one hour and 30 minutes, I don't need to share what was discussed.
"God willing, MKT's commitment will get a mandate at the division and branch level, MKT is committed to defending Najib Razak so that he is given justice," he added.
He said this in the President's closing speech in the 2023 UMNO General Assembly (PAU) at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL) on Saturday.
