President Jokowi visits Malaysia today

KUALA LUMPUR: The President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, is scheduled to pay a two-day official visit to Malaysia starting today.
Jokowi will be accompanied by his wife, Iriana Joko Widodo as well as cabinet ministers and Indonesian royal officials.
The visit of Joko Widodo or better known as Jokowi is quite significant in efforts to improve the close relations that have long existed between the two countries.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the President of Indonesia was scheduled to attend an afternoon tea session with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the National Palace.
As part of the visit, Jokowi is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to assess progress in the field of cooperation and discuss outstanding bilateral issues.
"Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Joko Widodo are expected to exchange views on the development of regional and global issues including the strengthening of ASEAN after 2025.
"In addition, the two leaders will also witness the exchange of several agreements that will be signed by representatives of relevant ministries and agencies from both countries," he said.
In 2022, Indonesia is Malaysia's sixth largest trading partner and ASEAN's second largest with a trade volume of RM130.14 billion, which is a 36.5 percent increase compared to RM95.31 billion in 2021.
