KUALA LUMPUR: Director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ), Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police with effect from 23 June 2023.

"It is to be informed that as stated under Clause 4 and 5 Article 140 of the Federal Constitution, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the advice of the Prime Minister on the certificate of the Police Force Commission has approved the appointment of Ayob Khan.
"Ayob Khan is 57 years old, born on 27 July 1966 in Kota Setar, Kedah. He holds a Master's Degree in Information Technology from the National University of Malaysia and has held various positions at the State and Contingent levels.
"He started work in 1993 at the Bukit Aman Special Branch from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for 15 years.
"He was later promoted to Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SAC) and placed in the Secret Service of the KPN (Research and Development) Bukit Aman Management Department before returning to the Special Branch with the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in 2016," he said in a statement. , on Thursday.
Saifuddin said Ayob Khan served for four years and was promoted to Police Commissioner (CP) in 2020 and took up the position of Johor Police Chief.
"In 2022, he returned to Bukit Aman as the Director of the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department and now serves as the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department.
