COVID-19: 1,000 cases cured, highest so far

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,000 cases of full recovery from COVID-19 as at 31 October, making it the largest number since the pandemic hit the country.
According to the Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah it makes the cumulative number of cases that have fully recovered from COVID-19 at 21,248 cases or 67.4 per cent of the total.
A total of 659 new cases were recorded, bringing the total number of positive COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 31,548 cases. Meanwhile, the number of active cases with COVID-19 infectivity is 10,051 cases.
No new deaths were recorded, maintaining the total at 249 cases so far.
"Out of 659 new cases today, there is one import case that got infected from abroad, namely Bangladesh, involving non-citizens.
"The MOH would also like to inform that there is no increase in new clusters today. Therefore, the number of active clusters remain at 133 with the total number of clusters ending at 114," he said at the COVID-19 daily press conference here on Saturday.
Sabah recorded 529 cases (80.3 per cent) and the states in the Klang Valley recorded 70 cases (10.6 per cent) of the total number of cases.
All four states accounted for 599 cases (90.9 per cent) of the total number of COVID-19 positive cases.
All these states were still under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
