Golf caddy charged with murder of female companion
KOTA TINGGI: A golf caddy was charged in the magistrate's court here on Wednesday with murdering his female companion.
Mohd Hayattulnurul Mohd Ghazali Ejau (pic), 27, allegedly killed Rovina Md Shariff, 37, in front of a hut at a rubber estate in Jalan Haji Salleh, Kampung Lukut near here, between 9.15pm on Dec 10 and 11am on Dec 12, last year.
The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the death sentence on conviction.
No plea was recorded from the accused.
Kota Tinggi High Court assistant registrar Hairul Azhar Mohamad set Feb 13 for remention.
Meanwhile, Mohd Hayattulnurul pleaded guilty to taking methamphetamine and amphetamine on Sept 8, 2015.
The charge under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 (Act 234) carries a fine of not more than RM5,000 or imprisonment of not more than two years and police supervision of not more than two years, on conviction.
The court set Feb 13 for sentencing.
