Zayn Rayyan's murder: Parents remanded for 7 days - KP Selangor

As of last January, the police have recorded the conversations of more than 225 individuals and taken 248 DNA samples for the purpose of investigating the murder of Zayn Rayyan.

KUALA LUMPUR: The parents of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin have been remanded for seven days from today in connection with the murder of the autistic child last December.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan told Astro AWANI that the remand order for the two suspects was issued by the Petaling Jaya Magistrate's Court, here.

He said, their arrest was based on intelligence since the first day of the incident.

"They were detained based on intelligence from the day of the incident until now," he said here today.

On December 5 last year, Zayn Rayyan was reported missing before being found dead near a creek, about 200 meters from his block of flats in Apartment Idaman, Damansara Damai, the next day.

As a result of Sungai Buloh Hospital's forensic and pathology investigation, the police confirmed that the six-year-old child died from injuries to the neck and body due to self-defense.

As of last January, more than 225 individuals have had their conversations recorded in addition to 248 DNA samples belonging to residents and close people taken for investigation purposes.

Previously, the police insisted that they never stopped investigating the autistic child's death case and until now the case has never been closed.

He added that the investigation related to the case is still active and his side is always waiting for new leads.
