KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 (Bernama) -- The prosecution will hand
over a copy of the hotel's closed-circuit camera (CCTV) footage
and analysis of the forensic report to the defense involving Israeli
man Avitan Shalom who was charged with two counts of trafficking
six firearms and possessing 200 rounds of ammunition. on July 30.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohamad Mustaffa P Kunyalam informed
Sessions Court Judge Norina Zainol Abidin, that his side had
handed over the majority of documents to the lawyer representing
Avitan, 38, before the nine-day case trial which will begin on 30
September.
"There are a number of documents that have not yet been handed
over, including CCTV footage and analysis of the forensic report
related to the case. Request a mention date within a month for our
side to hand over all the documents to the defense in preparation
for the trial," said Mohamad Mustaffa at the mention of the case
today.
Lawyer Datuk Naran Singh representing Avitan confirmed the
matter and did not object to the time period requested by the
prosecution.
"We also agree if the previously set trial date is maintained," he
said, who was also assisted by lawyer Navinjit Singh.
Norina then set July 30 for the mention of the case and submission
of the remaining documents.
