KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran actor, Kamal Bakar died in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Melaka Hospital at 1am this morning.
The 62-year-old actor's passing was shared by the deceased's son, Hanis Kamal, on his Facebook account.
"I'm asking everyone to donate Surah Al-Fatihah for my father," Hanis said in the message.
According to Hanis, his father's remains will be brought home before being buried after the Zohor prayer at the Bukit Baru Islamic Cemetery.
A few days ago, the media reported that the late Kamal or his real name, Kamaruldzaman Bakar was in serious condition after two weeks of being treated in the ICU, Melaka Hospital due to stage four lung cancer.
On June 3, Kamal was rushed to Melaka Hospital
After going to the Melaka Hospital ICU and receiving treatment, Kamal was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.
Kamal left behind a widow, Sarina Shariff, 56, whom he married in 1988 including five children.
The deceased began his acting career in the 1970s by starring in many dramas and films such as If Itu Takdirnya, Orang Minyak, Suami Aku Ustaz, Pendekar and Ratu Ten Pin.
