SHAH ALAM: PAS insists that it remains with the alliance and cooperation with Perikatan Nasional (PN) and has no intention of joining the government.
The party's secretary-general, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, said that the statement made by the Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil earlier about the 'possibility' of Pas joining the government because it was said that discussions were ongoing was his own imagination.
According to him, the matter has nothing to do with the party in question or political reality, but is clearly intended to confuse the public so that it can create a bad perception.
"It should also be emphasized that PAS is not like the parties in the government coalition that often change their promises and positions.
"Especially before the election, after it or at any other time that is necessary when stuck with the situation.
"Sorry Fahmi, Pas remains with PN," he said in a statement yesterday.
On June 22, Fahmi, who is also the government's spokesperson, neither denied nor confirmed rumors that his political rival Pas would join the central government coalition.
Answering a question on the matter, he said, there are many 'ongoing discussions' between the government and the opposition, especially with state leaders.
However, the Deputy President, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man affirmed the party's position that it has no desire to join the Pakatan Harapan (PH) - Barisan Nasional (BN) government as the viral allegations.
In addition, Takiyuddin also advised Fahmi to continue to be more transparent and not shock himself with perception games and slander to discredit Putrajaya's political rivals.
