Teacher crowned Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2024

PENAMPANG: Primary school teacher, Hyellene Danius representing the Inanam District Ngadau Unduk was crowned the 2024 National Ngadau Kaamatan Unduk (UNK).
Hyellene beat 50 other contestants at the finals of the Unduk Ngadau competition which took place at the Hongkod Koisaan Hall of the Kadazandusun Association (KDCA).
With the win, Hyellene received a cash prize of RM12,000, a crown, a trophy, a bouquet of flowers and several other accompanying gifts.
The gift was presented by the wife of the Sabah President Toh Puan Norlidah RM Jasni and accompanied by the Chief Minister's wife Datin Seri Juliah Salag.
While the second place was won by Unduk Ngadau from Kiulu district, Elldiwirna Saimen who brought home a cash prize of RM10,000, a trophy, a bouquet of flowers and several accompanying gifts.
Third place was won by Monicka Majin who represented the Keningau district and took home a cash prize of RM8,000, a trophy, a bouquet of flowers and accompanying gifts.
In addition, the fourth place winner was won by Unduk Ngadau representing KDCA Johor, Romandawi Gapari who took home a cash prize of RM5,000, a trophy and a bouquet of flowers.
The fifth, sixth and seventh place winners were respectively won by Liane Melve Grace Lias; Elviana Gunong and Richella Kan Siang Feng.
They each brought home cash prizes of RM4,000, RM3,000 and RM2,000 along with trophies and bouquets of flowers.
Prizes for third and fourth place were presented by Juliah Salag.
While the prizes for the fifth to seventh places were presented by the Deputy Chief Minister's wife Datin Cecilia Edwin.
