The police on hunt for a group of men who beat up homeless people

KLANG: The police are actively tracking a group of individuals involved in a case of beating homeless people around this district.
Klang Selatan District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong said, his department detected two video recordings that went viral on social media Twitter on Saturday showing four men believed to be local residents in a car beating a homeless man with a baseball bat.
According to him, the incident happened under the Port Klang bridge near a Lebuh Beringin supermarket.
"On Sunday, the Port Klang Police Station Complaint Counter also received a report from a local woman at 12.02 midnight about the video clip in question on Instagram.
"The Criminal Investigation Division (BSJ) of the South Klang District Police Headquarters (IPD) has opened an investigation paper under Section 324 of the Penal Code which is causing injury using a weapon," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He said, so far the police are working to locate the victim.
He said, at the same time, efforts to track down the suspect are underway.
"People who have information related to this case are asked to pass it on directly to IPD Klang Selatan at 03-33762222 or any nearby police station," he said.
