UTeM clinches 17 medals at ITEX 2020

MELAKA, Nov 23 -- Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) clinched 17 medals at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition 2020 (ITEX 2020) which was held online.
UTeM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Raha Abdul Rahim said the university won 10 gold, four silver and three bronze medals which also proved that its innovative products continued to receive international recognition.
She described the success achieved as a proud achievement and in line with UTeM's goal of producing quality research that focuses on innovative products that have a positive impact on society.
“It is also in line with the TUNAI or Technology at University Advancing Industry and Community concept adapted by UTeM besides being able to highlight products that can boost high-impact research capabilities,” she said in a statement here today.
The products that have won the gold medals include Removal Of Carbon Deposit Build Using HHO Engine led by Prof Dr Noreffendy Tamaldin; Fault Diagnosis With Convolutional Neural Network led by Dr Amat Amir Basari; 3 Dimensional 4h-Sic Mosfet (FINFET) led by Dr Muhammad Idzdihar Idris.
A New Design Of Progressive Drill Reamer led by Assoc Prof Dr Shukor Salleh; Eco EDM Dielectric Fluid For Coating Purpose led by Assoc Prof Dr Liew Pay Jun; and Ecoglow Tiles led by Dr Mohd Sanusi Abdul Aziz.
The competition which was organised by Concept, Innovative & Strategy (C.I.S) Network Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Malaysian Invention & Design Society (MINDS) took place from Nov 12 to 21 with judging and evaluations were made based on video presentation submitted by contestants.
ITEX 2020 saw the participation of more than 500 products from local and international universities.
