Three men nabbed over bullet threat against customs officer

KUCHING, Nov 27 -- Sarawak police arrested three men in connection with a criminal intimidation case against a Customs officer who received two live bullets at his residence here yesterday, said State Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail.
The suspects, aged between 35 and 39, were picked up following a police report lodged by the officer after receiving an envelope with two bullets in it, with a note saying “Got two bullets, one long one short, which one you want’’.
“The motive is believed to be linked to a special operation carried out by the Customs enforcement division in a particular district early this month headed by this officer,” he said in a statement here today.
The suspects have been remanded for four days until Dec 1, he said, adding that two of them have past criminal records for drug-related offences.
"Two investigation papers have been opened under Section 507 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation by anonymous communication, which is punishable by imprisonment up to seven years.
Aidi also said police were also looking for another suspect known as Yong King Ling, whose last known address is at No 72, Lorong 6, Taman Rejang Park, Sibu.
