KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 -- Politicians should be focusing on the welfare of the people instead of vying for positions or deliberately damaging the stability and economy of the country, says Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan.
He said there are certain politicians who are crazy over political power, but he is confident that the majority of the people would not approve of such actions.
"We see two veteran politicians who have long coveted the post of Prime Minister trying to create a new crisis at a time when the Prime Minister (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) is earnestly looking after the welfare and fate of the people.
"There are also opportunists who are taking the opportunity to bring a vote of no confidence against the Prime Minister…by right, we should be fighting COVID-19 in a cross-partisan manner, not creating divisions for personal gain," he said in a statement here today.
Wan Saiful said the Prime Minister had set the best example by focusing on safeguarding the welfare of the people and ensuring the country's economy is revived with integrity and commitment.
"Unite to uphold the command of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah) who has advised the people, especially politicians, to reflect, so that the country is not once again dragged into political uncertainty," he said.
