Ten people trapped inside shopping mall lift
IPOH: Barely a month after two senior citizens were trapped in Mydin Meru shopping mall lift for 25 hours, a lift at the same mall here failed again, this time with 10 people inside.
However, this time help came swiftly within 15 minutes.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the lift maintenance team managed to rescue the six women and four men at around 2.45pm on Saturday.
"We received the call and we rushed over to monitor the situation to ensure that no other victims were trapped.
"All the victims are safe," he said.
A spokesman for the mall declined to comment on the incident when contacted.
On July 3, The Star reported that an elderly couple were stuck in a lift at the same shopping mall for over 24 hours.
The couple, in their 70s, were so traumatised that they did not want to speak to anyone, including the police
