PETALING JAYA: Three people have been picked up by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd's (FIC) purchase of a posh hotel in Kuching, Sarawak.

Two of the suspects, aged 47 and 51, were directors of a company which was appointed as an agent to carry out the purchase in 2014.
They were detained at 9am on Saturday after being summoned to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to give their statements.
The other suspect, aged 57, was arrested at the Kuching MACC office at 1.30pm on Saturday.

MACC director of investigations Datuk Simi Abd Ghani confirmed the arrests.
Simi said two of the suspects had been remanded for a week until Aug 4 to assist in the probe.
Anti-graft officers will apply for a remand order against the other suspect on Sunday.
FIC's 2014 purchase of a posh Kuching hotel, comprising 213 guest rooms and apartment suites, had raised suspicions of corruption and abuse of power.
