MUAR: As a result of a seizure while driving, a man lost control until the car he was driving skidded and hit a pillar of a stone wall in front of the X-Ray Department of the Sultanah Fatimah Muar Specialist Hospital, on Friday.
According to Muar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz, the incident is believed to have happened at 10.20pm when the man and his friend were traveling from Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru Hospital to Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital.
"Preliminary investigations found that the accident was believed to have occurred when the driver of a Proton Saga 1.3 car suffered a seizure.
"The situation caused the car driven by the 30-year-old employee of the hospital's orthopedic goods supply company to lose control and hit a pillar of a stone wall in front of the hospital's X-ray Department.
"As a result of the collision, the victim lost consciousness and was treated in the red zone, while his friend, 28, was treated in the yellow zone due to chest pain," he said in a statement early Saturday morning.
Earlier, the incident went viral on the Anak-Anak Muar Official Group Facebook page and received various responses from netizens.
The case is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
