KUALA LUMPUR: Five individuals, including two sex video actors who promoted prostitution activities on the Telegram social media platform for a fee of between RM450 and RM550 for each content, were arrested on June 6.

Based on the investigation, the syndicate is seen to be able to earn 'income' of up to RM20,000 per month.

In addition to pornographic videos, the syndicate also promotes sex-related products and drugs.

In the video, customers are also promised sex services for an additional fee as stipulated.

Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Bukit Aman, Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said that all, including two suspects aged 12 and 17, were remanded for 14 days.

"In this case, we arrested five individuals, namely a 27-year-old local woman known as Miza Ozawa. A check found that this woman has a criminal record involving Section 323 of the Penal Code for beating her own mother.

"In addition, we arrested an Indonesian man (20 years old) who acted as Miza Ozawa's assistant and also an actor in this sex video, as well as a woman from her country, aged 26, who is also believed to be an actress in the sex video they produced.

"The other two arrested are a female teenager aged 17 and 12 who acted as an assistant to Miza Ozawa," he said at a press conference at the Bukit Aman Police Headquarters, here on Friday.

Mohd Shuhaily explained that the videos that were 'sold' were original content released by the 'production' concerned and the amount was based on demand.

"It does not involve porn videos from abroad or the involvement of third parties, they themselves produce and promote them," he said again.

In the raid, he said, the police confiscated RM30,000 in cash, laptops and various types of smart phones.

He informed that the case was investigated in accordance with Section 372(1)(e) of the Penal Code for promoting sexual activity, Section 292(a) of the Penal Code for possessing obscene material, Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/1963 (Amended 2002) ), Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Regulation 7(1)(a) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984.
