The nanny of a childcare center in Bandar Sri Permaisuri here was arrested after allegedly injuring a two-year-old girl, a video of which went viral on social media.
Cheras District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Zam Halim Jamaluddin said the police found two video clips lasting one minute 10 seconds and 56 seconds on the Facebook application (FB), showing the woman injuring the child, today.
According to him, before that at 11.28 yesterday morning, the police received a report made by the victim's father regarding the case.
"Acting on information, at 1pm yesterday, a team of members of the Criminal Investigation Division (D11), Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) arrested the 28-year-old suspect.
"The investigation is conducted in accordance with Section 31 (1) (a) of the Children Act 2001," he said in a statement today.
