SIC introduces Rahmah RM49.90 tickets to watch the Malaysian GP 2023

KUALA LUMPUR: Motorsport fans in the country can enjoy special prices through Rahmah tickets as low as RM49.90 introduced by the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) to watch the World Motorcycle Championship (MotoGP) at the Malaysian Grand Prix (GP) 2023, this November.
SIC Chief Executive Officer, Azhan Shafriman Hanif, said a total of 7,000 tickets at the K2 Hillstand began to be sold to all Malaysians online and at the ticket sales counter, starting yesterday.
"In addition to special ticket prices, free parking and the Rahmah menu for FB (food and beverages) will also be introduced. This is the first time we have introduced this kind of initiative.
"So we expect 170,000 spectators compared to the 164,000 spectators who attended last year and now we are on the right track to sell out because almost 70 percent of tickets have been sold since last year," he said at a press conference, here, yesterday.
Also present was the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh.
The 2023 Malaysian MotoGP will take place from 10 to 12 November.
In the meantime, Azhan said so far, no local rider will compete on a wild card ticket in the 2023 Malaysian GP race.
He, however, said the decision could change if any party wanted to volunteer to provide sponsorship and the decision would only be known 45 days before the race took place.
"For this year, we have no plans to put national riders on wild card tickets. Last year, two Petronas riders competed for wild card tickets in the Moto2 category.
"If there is a wild card sponsor like Petronas, I don't rule out the possibility," he said.
