Like in the past years, we shortlisted 10 major hotels to evaluate in the first three weeks of Ramadan before selecting our Top 3.
It is no surprise that some of our reviewers have put on weight sampling almost all the food at each buffet venue!
The Scoring for the selection of The Top 3 Ramadan 2023 Buffet's was based on the following criteria.
a) Food - Overall Taste, Quality and Freshness of the buffet spread
b) Drink's- Taste throughout the evening and variety of drinks available
c) Live Action Stations - Variety of Food, Chef's Attitude & Service
d) Desserts - Taste, Variety and Selection of Malay Kuih Available
e) Types of Cuisines - The variety of Malay, Indian, Chinese. Western and Japanese dishes available
f) Malay Cuisine - Taste of Traditional Malay Dishes and the variety available
g) Service - Service of Staff in clearing the plates and entertaining guest requests
h) Ramadan Entertainment- Performance by the Singer & Band
i). Ambiance & Comfort - The ambiance of the venue and comfort of diners
j) Overall Value - Was the Buffet Spread worth it v The Price Paid for it.
Note: We did not take into account Hotels that charged RM250 and above as we thought it was ridiculous that some hotels were charging that much.
During our selection process, the difference in points between the top 3 hotels were very close, we have included our scoresheet to show how close it was.

As you can see from the video, In their very first year of operations. the folks at ParkRoyal Collection Hotel put up an awesome Ramadan Buka Puasa Buffet with their "Selera Juadah Kampung" buffet spread. (Even fit for a King!!! (YDP Agong))
The hands on approach by the GM Cristian Nannucci, F&B Director Malkit Singh and Executive Chef Khalil has made it possible for them to put up a tasty, high quality buffet spread every single night.
The must try dishes included almost everything in the Malay, Indian, Western, Japanese and Seafood Section's!
The reviewers were raving about the fresh Oysters and Seafood here!

Wyndham Acmar Klang Hotel's "Mustika Nusantara" Buka Puasa Buffet was a phenomena this year, as they averaged about 1000 pax bookings per day during the second and third week of Ramadan.
Despite the crowds service was very good and food was constantly replenished.
The buffet spread here not only tasted good but also looked good. The Culinary team here clearly took the trouble to make their buffet set up to be visually very appealing,
The must taste items include the hot dishes in the Malay and Indian Sections, Satay, Roast Lamb, Soup Ekor, Roti John and Malay Desserts & Kuih. The Sushi rolls here were to die for and the Raya cookies were very good too!
Deputy General Manager Sheena and Celebrity Executive Chef Yahya from Masterchef Malaysia fame clearly took great pride in ensuring only the best tasting fare were served to diners. Diners got a big thrill when they took the trouble to go from table to table to mingle around with them.
If you are in the Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, and Klang area, this is certainly a must try buffet!. There was a very nice festive feeling to the Wyndham Acmar Klang's Mustika Nusantara buffet,

#3. ROYALE CHULAN KUALA LUMPUR HOTEL - "CITARASA NUSANTARA"

The Royale Chulan Hotel's "Citarasa Nusantara" buffet was back at their Mahsuri Courtyard giving diners an ambiance second to none, with a waterfall and all. In most other hotels, you would just be dining in a restaurant, a ballroom or in a function room.
You can get a real Ramadan Buka Puasa feel at Royale Chulan.
The must try item here at their buffet spread include Nestum Prawns, Seafood at their Ikan Bakar Melaka Stall, Sup Gear Box, Lok-Lok, Rendang & Lemang, Satay and Roast Lamb.
Over the years Royale Chulan is well reputed for their tasty Malay cuisine. They were top in our listing for several years.
Overall the buffet spread here was very good and simply a must try, even if just to experience the ambiance.
