Nik Airina Nik Jaffar appointed as PLUS Malaysia’s new MD and CEO
KUALA LUMPUR (April 5): Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaffar, director of special projects and corporate finance at UEM Group Bhd, has been appointed as the new managing director and chief executive officer of PLUS Malaysia Bhd,
Nik Airina has over 30 years of experience in the transportation and healthcare infrastructure industries, having been involved in the development, implementation and operation of major infrastructure projects in the region.
Some of the major projects she has undertaken include the North-South Expressway, Sabah Pan Borneo Expressway, the LRT Extension Project and the Cikopo-Palimanan Expressway in Indonesia
She sits on the board of CIDB Malaysia, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, and several other subsidiaries within UEM Group, including ProHawk, PLUS Expressways International Bhd, UEM Suria Bhd and Borneo Highway PDP Sdn Bhd.
PLUS Chairman, Datuk Mohamad Nasir Ab. Latif said, he is confident in Nik Airina's experience in leading various businesses in the operation of the highway network as well as asset management.
"We are confident that he will continue to steer PLUS in achieving its goals and objectives, among which is to ensure long-term business sustainability, strategic stakeholder management and efficient operations and service levels for our users," he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Nik Airina holds a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Miami, Florida and currently sits on the board of the Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).
