AYER KEROH: The swearing-in ceremony of Melaka State Councilor (Exco) will be held this Wednesday.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said, however, the complete list of proposed names for the Exco line-up will first be presented to the TYT Tun Mohd Ali Rustam.
He said, the oath-taking ceremony will also be held before the departure of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah who is scheduled to visit Melaka on Wednesday evening.
"As I promised, that I would complete the list of proposed Exco names within 48 hours, I have completed it. Only, the swearing-in ceremony will be held this Wednesday.
"After consulting with UMNO President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi yesterday, the list of names has already been received.
"And I will meet Mohd Ali after he returns from abroad. The time will be announced later," he said.
He said this after scanning the time recorder on his first day on duty at the Melaka Chief Minister's Office, Seri Negeri Complex here today.
Yesterday, Ahmad Zahid was reported to have said that the formation of the Exco in Melaka should reflect the composition of the parties that form the Unity Government at the Federal level, in addition to the fact that several Deputy Exco positions will be re-established.
Ab Rauf, who is also the Chairman of the State UMNO Liaison Board, when asked about the composition of the Exco portfolio between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) State Assembly Members, however, refused to disclose the matter.
He said, however, he is confident that the new line-up will be able to balance the administration of the state government.
"This portfolio, I have already said, it is beautiful and interesting, (so) I will tell you the composition later. If you tell me now, it's not fun.
"This new line is to balance the administration of the state government and take the approach that we are running at the federal level and that is what we intend to do in Melaka," he added.
In addition, the Tanjung Bidara assemblyman said that his main focus at the moment is to continue the Melaka state development agenda to ensure the continuity of the people's well-being under the unity government.
"Certainly all the previously planned agendas will be continued and will be looked at and studied for improvements for the prosperity and well-being of Melaka and the people in particular.
"So in the Melaka development plan, I will also see how generating development can be beneficial and there is no doubt that the existing state government management will equally help me," he added.
