Perak MB's office closed after staff found positive for COVID-19

IPOH, Nov 5 -- The Perak Menteri Besar's office here was ordered to close for 14 days from today when one of its staff was confirmed positive for COVID-19 after undergoing health screening yesterday.
In a statement today, it said as a safety measure, disinfection was carried out at the office located in the Perak Darul Ridzuan building in accordance with the standard operating procedure (SOP).
“Other sections at the building have been operational after the disinfection exercise was completed at 2 pm today.
"Following that, officers and staff of the Menteri Besar's office were also instructed to undergo self-quarantine at home and to monitor their respective health levels until further instructions from the Perak Health Department while screening of close contacts of the infected staff is carried out," the statement said.
The statement also said that Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu was not in the office during the period as he was attending the Dewan Rakyat sitting in the federal capital.
However, for safety reasons, Ahmad Faizal underwent a health screening test yesterday and his results were confirmed negative.
