Hubby stabbed to death during row
BATU PAHAT: A heated argument between a man and his Vietnamese wife turned deadly when the woman suddenly stabbed him to death outside a row of shops at Taman Flora Utama here.
During the 2.40am incident yesterday, witnesses had seen the couple quarrelling outside the shops before the woman pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the man in his chest.
Although passers-by quickly rushed the man to a private hospital nearby, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
It is believed that the 35-year-old man, who was involved in the car accessory business, sustained severe injuries on the left side of his chest.
Police are still trying to determine his identity while the body has been sent for post-mortem.
It is learnt that the couple had no children.
Confirming the case, Johor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Hasnan Hassan said the woman had been detained for questioning.
Police, he said, had managed to arrest the Vietnamese, believed to be in her mid-thirties, at Taman Koperasi Bahagia here some 20 minutes after the stabbing.
“We are still investigating the motive,” he said, adding that the case had been classified under Section 302 for murder.
