Every year, we ask you to put forward your nominations for the restaurants that deserve the highest recognition in the KL dining scene. You’ve voted, and here are the results. By the Time Out KL team

The results and how it’s done
As KLites, we are all very passionate about food – protective even, of our favourite restaurants. And there hasn’t really been any platform for you to practise your inner food critic and reward the cafés, eateries and restaurants you think are the best in the city – until the Time Out KL Food Awards, which we premiered in 2009.

Now in its fifth year, the Time Out KL Food Awards is the city’s only independent food awards where it is 100 percent voted for by you, our readers. We started with open field nominations across 16 categories in July, where you nominated your favourite restaurants. We tabulated the entries and shortlisted the nominees in each category for a final round of public voting, which ran throughout the month of September and October. The polls closed on Oct 31 and here you have the results for this year’s Time Out KL Food Awards, as voted by you.

So make this your ‘eating out’ guide for the next few months; pick a winning or shortlisted restaurant you have not tried and find out why they are constantly on everybody’s lips. Till next year, eat and be merry.
