Two Thai nationals injured after bomb explodes at customs check point
PETALING JAYA: A soldier and villager were injured after a home-made bomb buried at the Taba customs check point along the Thai-Malaysian border near Kelantan exploded at 10.15am on Thursday.
The two injured are Second Border Defense Company Chief Warrant Officer Montri Songsriboonsit, 40, and villager Jeh Sani Che-wae, 56.
The Bangkok Post reported that the 5kg explosive, buried in the sentry booth in front of the Taba customs office, went off as people were lining up to be cleared by the customs officers.
Tak Bai police chief Pol Col Prayong Khotsakha confirmed the incident and said the police believe the bomb was triggered remotely, the Bangkok Post reported.
