KUALA LUMPUR: Just because he was not satisfied with the shoe closet placed in the entrance to his room, a young man brutally hit his mother with the steering wheel of the car, causing the victim to break two teeth and bleed on his head.
Ampang Jaya District Police Chief ACP Mohd Azam Ismail said in the 12.30 night incident, the 74-year-old victim was reportedly sleeping, before being approached by the suspect who then proceeded to beat the elderly person.
"Seeing the incident, the victim's younger brother, who is in his 30s, tried to calm his brother down, but he was also punched," he said in a statement here today.
Following the incident, the victim's mother filed a police report and the 36-year-old suspect, who has no job, was arrested shortly after.
He said the results of a urine test on the suspect were found to be negative for drugs.
The man is now remanded for seven days until next February 27 and the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code, for intentionally causing serious injury by using a weapon or other dangerous object.
