"Najib sememangnya menyokong kerajaan PN, bagaimanapun beliau meminta Muhyiddin (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) meletakkan jawatan Perdana Menteri.

9 PPVs in Klang Valley will implement Walk-In Vaccinations : for Malaysians 40 & Above - August 2-4 18 & Above - August 5-22

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 -- Nine selected vaccination centres (PPVs) will conduct walk-in vaccination operation for residents in the Klang Valley starting Aug 2.

The COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) in a statement today said the PPVs are

KL Convention Centre, - HCO F, HCO G and HCO H;
Bangi Avenue Convention Centre;
Wyndham Hotel, Klang;
Dewan Tun Razak, Sabak Bernam;
Serendah Community Hall;
Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA and
Ideal Convention Centre, Shah Alam.

“It is specifically for those aged 40 and above or those in comorbid groups in the Klang Valley starting from Aug 2 to 4 while all Malaysians aged 18 and above in the Klang Valley will start from Aug 5 to 22.

"The walk-in time which starts at 2 pm every day, is subject to the day of operation of the respective PPV," it said.

In the same statement, CITF said for non-Malaysians in the Klang Valley, the walk-in date is Aug 9 and it will only be held at the National Stadium PPV in Bukit Jalil starting at 2 pm every day subject to the respective PPV operating day.

"For non-Malaysians aged 40 and above as well as those in comorbid groups in the Klang Valley the date is from Aug 9 to 11 while Aug 12 to 22 is for all non-Malaysians aged 18 and above in the Klang Valley," it said.

CITF said among the documents required as proof of residence in the Klang Valley is the address on identity card, driving licence, any utility bills or credit cards, employee card, student card, letter of agreement or others.

“Comorbid individuals are asked to bring any evidence to show they are comorbid such as treatment or appointment cards.

"Non-citizens, without valid identity or travel documents, will have to go through the process set out in a Guidelines for the Management of Vaccination to Non-Citizen Individuals issued by CITF," it said.

The implementation of this walk-in vaccination is on a 'first-come-first-serve basis' depending on the supply capacity at the PPV where walk-in individuals will be placed under a 'standby list' to attend the following day if the vaccine supply on that day has been used up, it said.

“Pregnant mothers do not need to attend the walk-in to get vaccinated instead their appointment will be given through MySejahtera.

“CITF would also like to remind that walk-ins are only for residents in the Klang Valley. Individuals who have obtained prior appointments are not allowed to attend the walk-in session and they are also not allowed to cancel an appointment given for walk-in purposes if the existing appointment is on a future date,” it said.

He said the walk-in vaccination operation was implemented due to the need to protect the people in the Klang Valley in the red zones where cases of COVID-19 infection are increasing.

CITF added that walk-in vaccination through outreach programmes in the suburbs of the Klang Valley will begin in stages on Aug 9.

“The dates and locations depend on the planning of the parties involved such as non-governmental organisations and government agencies that organise Community Vaccine Mobilisation (MOVAK) as well as other agencies such as District Offices and Health Offices in the target areas.

"Announcement of date, time and location will be carried out through social media, traditional media and through cooperation with the relevant District Offices and the Selangor State Information Department," it said.

Ismail Sabri fears rally may cause further spread of Covid-19

BERNAMA
31/7/2021

KUALA LUMPUR (July 31): Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today expressed his concern that the 'Keluar dan #Lawan' rally at Dataran Merdeka could cause further spread of the Covid-19 infection.

“I am worried about their safety (assembly participants) when they gather in such large numbers. Even if one of them catches the infection on the street, it will eventually be brought home.

"Maybe the cases will spread further as a result of the rally," he said during a press conference after visiting the Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil vaccination centre (PPV) here today.

According to Ismail Sabri, gatherings are not allowed during the Covid-19 pandemic and are deemed an offence under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).

Ismail Sabri also stressed that the government is willing to listen to the voices and views of all parties at any time, and not only when they are voiced out during street protests.

Earlier, some 400 people were believed to have participated in the 'Keluar dan #Lawan' rally near Dataran Merdeka here.

Ismail Sabri also urged all politicians to set aside their differences and work together to overcome the pandemic in the country.

He said political squabbles would not solve the people's problems and instead would affect the government’s efforts to help the people.

"Regardless of our party affiliation, we should focus on the issue of Covid-19, the issue of people who currently have no income. These problems are actually bigger than what is being voiced out today. Forget about the war in politics,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said that as of yesterday, 13,500,479 individuals (57.3%) had received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and 6,514,070 individuals (27.8%) had got both doses.

Based on the current rate of vaccinations, he was confident that herd immunity could be achieved by October.

On the Axiata Arena PPV, Ismail Sabri said it is capable of providing 8,000 vaccinations a day, and the highest daily tally achieved by the PPV to date was 7,260 injections on July 27.

A total of 143,780 vaccine injections have been administered at the PPV since it opened on June 7.

117 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases in Singapore, including 42 unlinked infections

Channel News Asia
31/7/2021

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 117 new locally transmitted COVID-19 infections as of noon on Saturday (Jul 31), including 42 infections with no links to previous cases.

Sixty-seven infections were linked to previous cases and had been placed on quarantine. Another eight linked infections were detected through surveillance testing.

Twenty-six cases were linked to the Jurong Fishery Port/Hong Lim Market & Food Centre cluster and one to the cluster in KTV lounges, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in its preliminary daily update.

The Jurong Fishery Port cluster has grown to 1025 cases and remains the largest active cluster in the country.

Among the new cases, seven were people above the age of 70 who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and at risk of serious illness, said MOH.

There were also three imported cases, who were placed on stay-home notice or isolated upon arrival. One infection was detected upon arrival while two developed the illness during the stay-home notice or isolation period.

In total, Singapore reported 120 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.

MOH will release further updates on Saturday night on the COVID-19 situation in Singapore.

MOBILE VACCINATION TEAMS

Health Minister Ong Ye Kung on Saturday said the top priority now is to get "as many" seniors above 60 vaccinated as soon as possible because they are "the most vulnerable".

"We have earlier reported that about 200,000 of them are not vaccinated. The number has come down to slightly below 180,000 or about 177,000, so a lot more work still needs to go on," said Mr Ong, during a visit to a mobile vaccination team at Whampoa Precinct Hall on Saturday.

MOH earlier announced that mobile vaccination teams will be deployed to more heartland locations to make it more convenient for seniors to get their COVID-19 vaccine jabs.

As of Saturday, Singapore has reported a total of 64,981 COVID-19 cases.

Malaysia’s special parliamentary meeting next Monday postponed due to COVID-19 cases in lower house

Channel News Asia
31/7/2021

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s special parliamentary meeting next Monday (Aug 2) will be postponed to a future date due to COVID-19 cases being detected in parliament, said the secretary of the House of Representatives.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Mr Nizam Mydin Bacha Mydin said the notice to postpone the meeting was issued by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin in line with Standing Order 11(3).

“This postponement is in line with the health director-general's proposal and current risk assessment conducted by the health ministry, as a result of the latest developments regarding COVID-19 spread, where the health ministry is of the opinion that the Malaysian parliament is a locality at risk for the spread of COVID-19,” according to the statement.

“As such, I have been ordered by Deputy Speaker Mohd Rashid Hasnon to deliver this notice to all MPs that the house will not sit on Monday, Aug 2.”

The five-day special parliamentary meeting was supposed to allow the government to brief lawmakers about its COVID-19 response and pave the way for an eventual hybrid parliament sitting. The last day of the meeting was scheduled to take place on Aug 2.

However, the proceedings were overshadowed by an announcement by de facto law minister Takiyuddin Hassan that the emergency ordinances introduced during the state of emergency had been revoked on Jul 21.

In a rare reprimand, the palace said that the government had revoked the ordinances without the king’s consent. "His Majesty stressed that the minister's statement in the parliament on Jul 26 is not accurate and has misled the MPs,” it said.

The Prime Minister’s Office, however, has maintained that its actions were in accordance with Malaysia’s laws and Constitution.

On Thursday afternoon, the parliament building went into lockdown after it was announced that two COVID-19 cases were detected there. All lawmakers were made to undergo screening while the proceedings were postponed.

The parliament meeting was later adjourned at 5.15pm when the deputy speaker said that two more COVID-19 cases were detected.

Subsequently, health director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah said 11 COVID-19 cases were detected at the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday.

Ten of these cases were detected using antigen saliva test kits, while the remaining case was detected through a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, he said.

Walk-In Vaccination In Klang Valley To Begin On August 2 (Video)

Walk-in vaccination in Klang Valley to begin on Aug 2

BERNAMA
31/7/2021

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 -- Walk-in vaccination will be launched at selected vaccination centres in the Klang Valley on Monday (Aug 2), said National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Khairy, who is Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, said the walk-in vaccination would kick off after the Operation Surge Capacity vaccination programme in the Klang Valley ends tomorrow.

“The walk-in vaccination operation will be opened according to category on Aug 2, starting with those aged above 40 and the group with comorbidities.

“On Aug 5, we will open it to all aged above 18,” he told the media after inspecting a vaccination programme for Chinese nationals here today.

Khairy said the details of vaccination by walk-in method will be announced by the COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) soon.

To prevent the dissemination of fake news, Khairy has reminded the public that not all PPVs would accept walk-ins.

“CITF will announce the list of PPVs in a couple of hours later, PPVs which are open (for walk-in vaccination). Do not assume that all PPVs (in Klang Valley) are open for walk-in,” he said.

Khairy said WhatsApp messages claiming that some PPVs were dispensing certain types of vaccines are not true.

The administering of vaccines through the walk-in process would be on a ‘first-come first-served’ basis depending on the capacity of the PPV concerned, he added.

“So, we will inform the people regarding the capacity for the walk-in vaccination on any given day,” he said.

Khairy said those who turned up but could not get vaccinated would be given priority to get their jabs the next day.

The walk-in vaccination in the Klang Valley is only for those who have yet to get their appointments, have cancelled their appointments or have yet to register for vaccination.

“We are confident that by tomorrow 99 per cent of the adults registered (for vaccination) in the Klang Valley would have obtained their appointments.

“It’s not to say that in August there will be no vaccination at all in the Klang Valley. There will be of course second dose vaccination but there will be first dose as well. There will be people we missed out,” he said.

Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz

Tan Sri Lin See Yan

Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican

Tan Sri Mohamed Azman Yahya

Prof. Dr Jomo K. Sundram

Tan Sri Dr. Abu Bakar Suleiman

Prof Datuk Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman

Emeritus Prof Datuk Dr Lam Sai Kit

Datuk Dr Musa Nordin

Datuk Dr Amar Singh HSS

Dr Kumitaa Theva Das

Prof Emeritus Datuk Shad Faruqi

Prof Datuk Salleh Buang

Tunku Ali Redhauddin Tuanku Muhriz

Tan Sri Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid

Samuel Isaiah

Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said

Hannah Yeoh

Ahmad Fahmi Fadzil

Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman
