KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is calling on the public not to spread the video of a man who was tied up and beaten to death after being involved in an accident near Taman Pelangi Semenyih 2, Kajang, Selangor, last Tuesday.
According to MCMC, any sharing involving videos or content involving victims and parties involved may be subject to legal action under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
"The video shows the violence that happened to a man who was involved in an accident.
"Out of respect for the victim's family, MCMC urges the public not to spread the video and if it has been uploaded, MCMC advises the public to delete it.
"The sharing of video recordings of the victims not only hurts the feelings of the victims' families, but also violates basic principles and ethics with the use of graphics related to accidents, accidents and violence that can cause anxiety in the audience," he said in a statement today.
MCMC said, as a guideline regarding content creation, reference can be made through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Content Code.
He added that every individual should consider properly not to spread videos or content related to the incident.
This media previously reported that a man was not only pulled out of the car by members of the public after an accident, his hands were even tied and beaten to death .
The incident occurred after the 41-year-old man driving a Proton Saga was involved in an accident with a food delivery man.
