Elderly man who rode against traffic killed in accident

GEORGE TOWN: An elderly man, who rode his motorcycle against traffic, was killed in an accident early Sunday on the Penang Bridge.  

Tan Choon Wah, 65, from Lebuh Mahsuri, Bayan Lepas, was killed in the head-on collision with a car at KM5.7 at about 4am.  
George Town OCPD Asstn Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said investigations found that Tan was riding against the traffic flow when he was hit by a car on the right lane.
It was unclear how or why Tan rode against the traffic.  
The fatal accident occurred on the mainland-bound direction. Tan died at the scene.  
ACP Mior Faridalathrash said the case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.  
The body has been sent to the Penang Hospital for a post-mortem. 
On March 14, a 19-year-old girl allegedly drove against traffic on the North-South Expressway near Permatang Pauh and caused a fatal accident.
Ng Pei Ven claimed trial on March 17 to a drug-related charge. She is also being investigated for reckless driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
